Our client, a global leader in premium ingredients for the bakery industry, is experiencing rapid growth. To support this expansion, they are seeking a Vice President of Sales for their Artisan and Distribution (A&D) Channel in Canada. This role is open to candidates in both Montreal and the Greater Toronto Area.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Sales will shape the long-term strategy for the A&D channel, driving sales growth through distributors to retailers, semi-industries, and artisans across key markets in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta. This leadership role focuses on increasing profitability, delivering value-added products, and creating a distinct customer experience that sets the company apart from competitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team to achieve company goals, fostering a positive work environment and addressing any performance gaps.
  • Business Development: Drive sales growth in key product categories, develop strong relationships with customers, and partner with industry leaders. Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activities, and new developments in the baking industry.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Business Development teams to refine product strategy, support local innovations, and manage key customer relationships.
  • Financial Oversight: Analyze financial reports, set sales budgets, and contribute to business growth initiatives.
  • Travel: Regular customer visits across Canada, with occasional international travel.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in sales or marketing, with a proven track record in the food industry (preferably baking and ingredients).
  • Leadership: 5+ years of people leadership experience, excelling in a collaborative, sales-driven culture.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, project management, and analytical skills. Expertise in customer relationship management and business strategy.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and experience with SAP is a plus.
