Senior Construction Manager

Our Alberta based client has an immediate need for an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead and oversee construction management for high-profile development projects.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead all phases of development projects, including preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Oversee design work and site activities in collaboration with project management and development teams.
  • Develop cost estimates, manage pre-bid Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules, analyze contractor CPM updates, and maintain up-to-date market condition databases.
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures and safety protocols.
  • Mentor and develop Construction Managers.
  • Build relationships within the construction community and identify business opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed project status reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction systems.
  • Facilitate bidding processes, negotiate with general contractors, review Requests for Information (RFIs).
What you need to apply:
  • Post-secondary education in a construction-related field such as engineering, architecture, or construction management.
  • 10 years of experience in residential construction, with a proven track record in senior construction management roles and managing complex, large-scale projects.
  • Expertise in project planning, cost management, and a thorough understanding of Calgary’s bylaws and regulatory requirements.
  • Expertise in leading complex construction projects through all phases, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop construction teams, foster collaboration, and improve team performance.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed cost estimates, managing project schedules, and analyzing financial data to ensure projects remain on budget.
  • Strong background in implementing quality control measures and enforcing safety protocols across all project sites.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, clients, and team members, and to present and negotiate project details effectively.
