Our client is an iconic new BC winery based in Southern Okanagan and they are currently seeking an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing to join their growing team. This full-time, salaried position will be based in the South Okanagan or the Lower Mainland/Vancouver (with travel to the winery as required).

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Sales & Marketing strategically and proactively, leads the Sales & Marketing function responsible for creating and sharing winery with the world. Working collaboratively with other departments, the Director of Sales & Marketing is accountable for branding; consumer, customer and public relations; marketing programs and initiatives and advertising campaigns with full responsibilities over the marketing budget, information and metrics, people (employee and service providers), and tools and resources (website, social media, advertising) who drives packaging, positioning, partnerships, content distribution, customer experience, etc. in alignment with and with the goal of achieving the long term vision and strategic plan. This position is also accountable, in collaboration with the sales team, for executing sales objectives for all sales channels inside and outside of the winery (D2C, agency sales, wine clubs, online, licensees, retail).

The essential functions for the role include the following:
  • Develop route-to-market partnership plan to increase distribution and grow volume across different regions in Canada (BC, AB, ONT, QB)
  • Build & manage agency relationships
  • Lead sales team in BC
  • Manages export sales
  • Oversee marketing strategy development & branding
  • Oversee D2C sales (wine club & e-commerce)
  • Oversee events & programs to showcase the Estate and its products
  • Monitor competitive landscape and market trends locally and internationally ensuring PCE is positioned at the forefront
  • Oversee annual advertising and promotions schedule and plan; optimizes digital and traditional marketing efforts
  • Manages PR agency to obtains media coverage on behalf of PCE
  • Network with trade, media and consumer influencers
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce, ideally focused on marketing
  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience in sales & marketing of luxury products
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience
  • Proven track record building and executing sales & marketing plans and programs
  • Knowledge and passion for wine with formal wine education (WSET or ISG)
  • Ability to seamlessly transition from strategic development to tactical execution
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and information to inform decision making
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to set goals and manage projects, prioritize, and see initiatives through
