Objective and Purpose
We are seeking a tenacious & dynamic Product Developer with experience in developing Cannabis Vapour Liquids, with a strong scientific background supporting problem solving. A driven individual that thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment & that has experience in leading teams that are tasked with overcoming novel challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead Cannabis Vapour Liquid development projects in both Develop & Discovery stages.
  • Lead a team of two level 1 Vapour Product Developers, provide support and guidance in both technical & personal development.
  • Lead final product development to meet identified action standards including, but not limited to, sensory performance, regulatory compliance, target financial objectives, quality compliance, and product safety.
  • Lead the identification of technical enablers and development/validation of proof-of-concept prototypes.
  • Enable the transfer of projects onwards into product deploy teams.
  • Provide robust and supportable technical insights that may improve the current innovation pipeline and drive the delivery of game-changing technologies.
  • Lead the identification of technical enablers to assist in the creation of new concepts and ideas relevant to opportunity spaces in the Vapour category.
  • Provide technical support into the development and validation of concepts and ideas.

Education, Training, and Experience
  • Degree (or more) in one of the following:
    • Chemistry
    • Biochemistry
    • Chemical engineering
  • Experience & detailed knowledge in Product development.
  • Experience in Cannabis industry R&D.
  • Experience of product technical design principles, design validation testing & failure mode analysis.
  • Experience managing a team.

Skills and Competencies
  • Understanding and application of product regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Developed network of industry & ex-industry technology partners.
  • Knowledge of early-stage innovation techniques & processes.
  • Planning & implementation skills.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects.
  • Knowledge & experience of consumer-product insights & product research.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, ability to engage with key stakeholders internally & externally, up to senior level.
