POSITION: HR Manager
LOCATION: Whitby, ON (onsite position)

MacDonald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies.

We are recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing private company on track to double in size in the next 2 years who are on the hunt for an HR Manager.

This position will support all facets of the HR function from benefits, payroll, performance management, compensation, employee engagement/relations and communications with a major focus on recruitment and onboarding.

This is a brand-new restructured position as the company has now grown in size to warrant an in-house HR lead and will be a stand-alone HR position. Previously, HR has been outsourced.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement new projects and programs and possess a combination of both strategic and hands-on/tactical HR expertise. This position will actively manage and contribute to the promotion of a healthy, safe, and environmentally responsible workplace through continuous improvement and promotion of HS&E in the workplace.

Please note this is an on-site position Monday to Friday with core hours of 8:30am-5:00pm. The work environment is flexible to adjust hours as needed and make up time on other days.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an HR-related discipline or similar.
  • 3-5 years HR experience including experience in an HR lead role and experience in employee performance management.
  • Must be well-versed using HRIS in general.
  • Excellent understanding of current Ontario/Canadian employment legislation and best practices.
  • Highly flexible and approachable, understanding shifting priorities based on organizational and business direction.
  • Capable of working autonomously coupled with the foresight to seek guidance and approval when necessary.
  • Confidentiality, diplomacy, and commitment to the needs of employees.
