Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Marketing strategically and proactively, leads the Marketing and Sales functions responsible for creating and sharing winery with the world. Working collaboratively with other departments, the Director of Marketing is accountable for branding; consumer, customer and public relations; marketing programs and initiatives and advertising campaigns with full responsibilities over the marketing budget, information and metrics, people (employee and service providers), and tools and resources (website, social media, advertising) who drives packaging, positioning, partnerships, content distribution, customer experience, etc. in alignment with and with the goal of achieving the long term vision and strategic plan. This position will also oversee all sales channels inside and outside of the winery (D2C, agency sales, wine clubs, online, licensees, retail).
This role offers a base salary (110-130k range based on skills and experience), along with benefits, and is eligible for incentive/bonus program.
The essential functions for the role include the following
- Oversee marketing strategy development & branding
- Oversee D2C sales (wine club & e-commerce)
- Oversee events & programs to showcase the Estate and its products
- Monitor competitive landscape and market trends locally and internationally
- Oversee annual advertising and promotions schedule and plan; optimizes digital and traditional marketing efforts
- Manages PR agency to obtains media coverage
- Network with trade, media and consumer influencers
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce, ideally focused on marketing
- Minimum 10 years progressive experience in marketing in the Canadian wine industry
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience
- Proven track record building and executing sales & marketing plans and programs
- Knowledge and passion for wine with formal wine education (WSET or ISG)
- Ability to seamlessly transition from strategic development to tactical execution
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data and information to inform decision making
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to set goals and manage projects, prioritize, and see initiatives through
