Business Development Manager - Nutraceuticals

Our client is one of North America’s largest contract manufacturers of private label nutraceuticals with more than 30 years of experience. From their headquarters and production facilities in Vancouver, Canada, the company supplies customers in North America and Europe with high quality oral delivery systems.

Due to unprecedented growth, they are adding a Business Development Manager to their team. This is a hybrid role, working from the office in Langley 3-4 days per week, and remote 1-2 days per week.

This role offers a base salary ($95-105k target, based on skills and experience), bonus, car allowance, and benefits.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, implementing growth strategies, and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute growth strategies to achieve sales objectives and help deliver a 4-year strategic plan
  • Establish, prioritize and build strong relationships with potential new business partners, based on industry knowledge and mutual value creation
  • Conduct and lead market research and analysis to identify the critical customers, target markets and new business opportunities to achieve growth targets
  • Partnering with R&D, build the product innovation pipeline and pricing strategies to enhance their company’s competitive advantage in the market
  • Gather information on emerging industry trends and understand the competitive landscape to best position their company for future growth
  • Review monthly and quarterly sales targets and KPI’s to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Manage proposal development and commercial contract negotiations
  • Attend and exhibit at trade shows, conferences, seminars, workshops, etc. as required
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years customer facing sales and/or business development experience in a commercial setting, with strong preference to nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, natural products or manufacturing industry within North America
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Knowledge and application of a strategic selling approach with proven success by prospecting, targeting and winning new accounts aligned to an overall strategic plan
  • Ability to navigate medium/large organizations (both internal and external) creating high level partnerships to guide and support critical decisions
  • Industry Knowledge & Influence: deep understanding of competitors, product lines, industry trends and market influences
  • Financial Acumen: solid understanding of P&L, Revenue, Profitability, etc.
  • Strong work ethic and workflow coordination with excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent networking and verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to travel as need
