Business Development Manager - B2B Retail

To support their growth, they are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team. The primary objective of the BDM is to strengthen and explore new opportunities within existing retail customers (grocery, pharmacy, hardware and pet) and to prospect and develop new business relationship with clients throughout Canada and the United States. The role is based primarily onsite at their office in Port Coquitlam (with some flexibility for remote work), and involves approximately 25% travel.
This role offers a base salary in the $70-78k range (based on skills & experience), a quarterly bonus, mileage/travel expenses, benefits, RRSP match.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Build account relationships through strong product knowledge
- Troubleshoot client inquiries and communication innovation
- Project manage large value orders and custom opportunities
- Recommend products/services to improve customer satisfaction and increase sales potential
- Follow up on inquiries, quotes and orders using CRM/ERP software
- Perform order/quote processes including data entry and reporting
- Develop and explore new opportunities with new clients
- A college or University degree is not required but is an asset
- 4+ years of sales and business development experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office a must along with CRM experience
- Exceptional organizational skills along with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a solid customer service focus
- Highly evolved time management skills with a strong sense of urgency and very detail-oriented
- Highly motivated self-starter with a great sense of humour
- Retail and marketing experience an asset
- Must have a valid passport and ability to travel internationally, including US
